The aim of this session is to question officials and the Minister following HM Chief Inspector of Prisons’ inspection report on HMP Birmingham.

The report raised significant concerns about the deterioration of the prison, prompting an urgent notification by the Chief Inspector, and a subsequent decision by MOJ to intervene in the running of the prison which had been contracted out to G4S.
