The Justice Committee asked the new Prisons and Probation Minister about her priorities and recent policy announcements from MOJ, Number 10 and HM Treasury, relating to prisons, including:

  • The content of the Queen’s Speech relating to prisons;
  • The condition of the prison estate and the announcement of an additional 10,000 places;
  • Safety and security;
  • Female offenders; and
  • IPP prisoners.
