Inquiry

This one-off evidence session on young adults and the youth custodial estate is expected to cover a number of issues including:

  • an update to the Ministry's response to the previous Justice Committees Report on The treatment of young adults in the criminal justice system
  • the Ministry's current approach to young adults in the justice system
  • what the Government is doing in response to declining safety in the youth custodial estate
  • further steps which can be taken to improve safety and access to education for children in custody.
