The constitutional relationship with the Crown Dependencies

Inquiry

Following the announcement that a General Election will be held on 4 July, Select Committees will be unable to meet from 24 May and will cease to exist from 30 May until after the General Election. This work has therefore closed.

This was a short inquiry examining the constitutional relationship between the UK Government and the Crown Dependencies of the Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey. The topics considered by the Committee included the working relationship between the Crown Dependencies and the Ministry of Justice as well as their wider relationship with the UK Government; their participation in international treaties, including Free Trade Agreements; the extension of UK legislation to the Crown Dependencies; and the future constitutional relationship between the Crown Dependencies and the UK Government.
