Transport Committee to hold opening Heathrow inquiry evidence session 

The Transport Committee is set to hold the first oral evidence session in its inquiry looking into the Government’s blueprint for a third runway at Heathrow.

Wednesday’s session will begin with a panel featuring four economic experts, including the chief analyst at the Department for Transport.

A second panel will feature representatives of the pro-expansion British Chambers of Commerce, BusinessLDN and GMB trade union.

The Committee is scrutinising the draft Heathrow Expansion National Policy Statement published by the Department for Transport in June 2026.

Over the summer, the Committee received more than 70 pieces of written evidence.
