Child Poverty: Parents to give evidence to committees
Parents will sit alongside MPs on the Education and Work and Pensions Committees when they give evidence on raising children in poverty on 1 July.
Meeting details
The committees are conducting a joint inquiry, Realising potential, on the Government’s Child Poverty Strategy. The Strategy aims to reduce levels of child poverty which had touched 4.5 million children in the UK before the two-child limit was scrapped as its first step.
The seven parents will share their experiences of bringing up children on low incomes and will be asked about their thoughts on the Strategy.
This will be the penultimate session of the inquiry. MPs will question Ministers on 14 July.
