MPs to question David Lammy amid critical pressures facing justice system
Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary Rt Hon David Lammy and MoJ Permanent Secretary Dr Jo Farrar will appear before the Justice Committee for the first time during a wide-ranging evidence session in Parliament on the work of the Lord Chancellor.

MPs on the cross-party committee chaired by Labour MP Andy Slaughter will explore multiple issues across courts, prisons and probation. Discussion is expected to focus on jury trial reform, the Crown Court backlog, prisoner releases in error, prison capacity, rehabilitation and electronic monitoring, as well as staffing and the Sentencing Bill.
