The Justice Committee will hear from the Chair of the Law Commission, Sir Peter Fraser and Law Commissioner for Criminal Law, Professor Penney Lewis during an evidence session in Parliament on Tuesday, November 18.

Discussion is expected to focus on the current and future work of the Law Commission, funding and its relationship with the Government. Sir Peter was appointed as Chair of the Law Commission in December 2023 and is due to appear before the Justice Committee for the first time in his role.
The Law Commission is the statutory body created by the Law Commissions Act 1965 to keep the law of England and Wales under review and to recommend reform where it is needed.
