Work The work of the Department for Work and Pensions (Non-inquiry session)
Secretary of State at Department for Work and Pensions

MPs are likely to ask about the consequences of the changes to the Bill, including where funding for a slated £2.2 billion investment employment support before the next general election will come from. The investment and the Bill are part of a broader Government strategy – Pathways to Work – that aims to get more benefits claimants into work.

The session will be the Secretary of State’s first appearance before the Committee after the publication of its report on safeguarding vulnerable claimants which recommended a cultural change at the heart of the DWP.

Members of the Committee might also ask questions on the Pensions Schemes Bill which willconsolidate smaller pension funds while diverting investment towards UK projects among other things,
