What is the impact of the 2025 Spending Review on Wales? MPs investigate 

On Wednesday 2 July, MPs will hear from leading academics and experts on the impact of the 2025 Spending Review on Wales.

The session is an opportunity to understand if the funding allocated in the Spending Review and the current financial system provide an adequate settlement for Wales. 

In light of the announcement of £445 million being allocated for rail enhancements for Wales, the Committee is likely to ask if this is sufficient to deliver the projects identified in the Spending Review.  

As part of the Committee’s ongoing inquiry into inward investment, Members are likely to ask questions about the £2.4 million allocated to launch a new Brand Wales programmes. The UK Government states the programme will promote Welsh investment opportunities and exports around the world. 

Other topics which may be discussed include the Welsh Fiscal Framework and the Shared Prosperity Fund.
