The US and Pakistan’s involvement in Afghanistan
The House of Lords International Relations and Defence Committee will take evidence from former senior US officials and a former Ambassador of Pakistan to the US on these countries’ engagement with Afghanistan and the role of other regional actors.
The Committee will ask about the US’s motivations for reaching an agreement with the Taliban, the ongoing Afghan peace talks in Doha, and Pakistan’s objectives and role in Afghanistan.
