MPs to question Heaton-Harris on Stormont financial package and Windsor Framework
The UK Government’s financial offer to the Stormont Executive will come under examination in an upcoming Northern Ireland Affairs Committee session on Tuesday with Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Heaton-Harris.
Meeting details
Heaton-Harris will be questioned on the £3.3 billion package, including the lump sum to settle public sector pay claims, the ‘needs-based’ funding formula for Northern Ireland, and how he thinks the Executive might raise the £113m of its own funding necessary as part of a financial sustainability plan to trigger the package before the deadline of May this year.
The session is also an opportunity for MPs to ask what changes will be made to the operation of the Windsor Framework to accommodate the new deal.
