Benefit levels in the UK: Work and Pensions Committee to question Secretary of State Mel Stride MP
Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Stride MP will give evidence to the Work and Pensions Committee’s inquiry into benefit levels in the UK.
Mr Stride and senior officials will face questions on issues raised in the inquiry so far, such as the purpose of working-age benefits, the procedure for their uprating and the future of health and disability related benefits and sanctions.
Meeting details
The session will also give the Committee the opportunity to ask about announcements made in the Autumn Statement, including those relating to the uprating decisions to come into effect in April 2024, the rise in the rate of Local Housing Allowance and the Government’s proposed pension reforms.
