Northern Ireland Secretary, Chris Heaton-Harris MP, will appear before the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee for a regular scrutiny session to explore key issues affecting the people of Northern Ireland.

Work Work of the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (Non-inquiry session)
Secretary of State for Northern Ireland at Northern Ireland Office

Likely areas of questioning

The cross-party group of MPs will likely question Mr Heaton-Harris on progress towards the restoration of Stormont, the current state of Northern Ireland’s public finances, and whether implementation of the Windsor Framework is operating effectively.

Following the recent start of the new ‘Green Lane’ system for eligible goods moving from Great Britain to Northern Ireland, MPs may seek to press the NI Secretary on its impact on businesses and consumers, including concerns that food prices could rise.
