The Committee also hears from Sir Stephen Laws KC, a panellist on the Independent Human Rights Act Review, and the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission.
The Bill of Rights Bill was introduced by Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab in June who said it would “reinforce our tradition for liberty while curtailing the abuses of human rights”.
However, if passed, it would repeal and replace the Human Rights Act which is broadly considered to be a cornerstone of the operation of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement.
