Further written submission from Universities UK (SPP0114)

The qualitative survey was published in March with more detail here:

We published a report looking at progress made in tackling sexual misconduct and harassment affecting university students. We highlighted that progress has been made but there is more to do, and there needs to be a stronger focus on tackling hate crime and staff-student sexual misconduct. The report received national and sector press coverage and the Universities Minister issued a supportive quote to accompany the publication. This update report was also mentioned in the widespread media coverage of the Revolt Sexual Assault survey and the coverage of the NUS survey on staff-student sexual harassment.

From speaking to colleagues, my understanding is that the quantitative survey is now due to go out imminently and will inform our annual conference on the issue on 1 December this year.

We are also holding an event on 20 July on “Managing sexual misconduct cases within the university setting” – this will include some filming of colleagues discussing best practice to highlight progress and share what has worked well. https://www.universitiesuk.ac.uk/events/Pages/managing-sexual-misconduct-cases-within-university-setting.aspx
