Written evidence submitted by Mr Benjamin Vorono [LHR 250]

I am a leaseholder in a building owned by G&O Investments Ltd which in turn controls Urbanpoint Property Management who “manages” the block. We pay thousands of pounds a year for them to manage but we had no internal lights for nearly 18 months (documentation to prove). They cancelled our fire inspections but still charged us for them which I only discovered by visiting the fire inspection company myself. The building was historically full of tenants, completely lawless with drug addicts living in storage cupboards. There was never any attempt to secure the building. There are mains cables for all the flats running under the entry hall of the first floor flat and they refuse to remedy this unless each flat pays for a lease licence.

They authorised the installation of a massive steel fire escape which has structurally effected the back of our building by causing severe leakage which has in turn caused serious rot to the timber structure.

This is a Grade II listed building and amount of contempt and neglect G&O have displayed makes it clear they are here purely speculatively with absolutely no interest in preserving our block or ensuring the tenants here are safe and secure.

They have intentionally allowed our sinking fund to be thousands of pounds in debt whilst under the umbrella of their organisation they own a collections agency.

They are doing pretty much anything they can to extract as much money from all of us here without providing any services what so ever. We need a safe and secure way to purchase our Freehold so this building can survive and the residents can have the stability in knowing they hold their own fates in their hands.
