Supplementary written evidence from Arron Banks
Email from Arron Banks to the Chair of the Committee, 12 March 2018
Dear Damian,
I can confirm that Cambridge Analytica did not complete phase 1 or 2, nor did we pay any money or receive any pro bono work from them.
In fact, the Leave.eu campaign was actually audited by an independent accounting firm and we hired a QC that gave us legal advice throughout the period.
The Electoral commission investigation is now over a year old, and despite sending huge amounts of data, emails and co-operating in every way they are unable to give us specific
examples of how or when we broke the rules.
I will send you a report on our own social media campaign which dwarfed that of the official Vote Leave campaign & the remain campaign in numbers of followers.
all the best
Arron
Email from the Chair of the Committee to Arron Banks, 10 March 2018
Dear Mr Banks
Could I ask whether Cambridge Analytica completed any of the work set out in the document for phases 1 and 2, to assist Leave.EU in its aim to be selected by the Electoral Commission as the official leave campaign. If so was this work conducted on a paid or pro-bono basis.
Kind regards
Damian Collins
