The quality of data within the battery community is a running joke within the battery community. People barely even expect to be able to reproduce the effects observed in the published wok of others. This seems like a strange state of affairs. I’m confident that many individuals within their community are doing their best, but we still have a long way to go. I think it is not unreasonable to suggest that there is almost no value in unreproducible work. As such, every effort should be made to incentivise higher quality studies that will allow the community to progress. Currently, too much emphasis seems to be placed on novelty and not enough on quality.
Furthermore, even when experiments are done carefully, the data analysis is usually described in vague terms with prose in the paper, rather than providing a link to a well-documented code repository. This needs to change.
