I can’t believe government time is being wasted on such a futile exercise. When is cohabiting going to be defined as starting & finishing. If 2 young people share a flat for a couple of weeks is that sufficient to establish cohabiting. If one leaves and initiates a relationship with someone else is the prior relationship still in existence.

I can see why lawyers are keen to see this issue progressed.

We already have marriage ( the preferred option) & civil partnerships available so why complicate the issue of formalizing relationships even more
