Written evidence submitted by Mr P Tolley.
I am in the British Army based in the East Midlands. In December 2024 my family and I moved on assignment from Cambridgeshire to Derbyshire, this meant I had to take my disabled daughter out of her Special School that she was attending under a Educational Health and Care Plan. The EHCP was transferred to Derbyshire County Council on 11th December 24. Fast forward 6 weeks and Derbyshire Council has still not found my daughter a suitable educational setting that can meet her needs, one school that is 4 miles from our address has rejected our request but offered no legal reason for doing so. I reminded Derbyshire County Council of their legal obligations under the Armed Forces Covenant as to not disadvantage us as a service family, however I feel theybare failing us. More importantly it is having a serious negative impact on my daughters development being out of school.
