Monitors capacity and capability across forces, manages mobilisation, and supports the national public order response.

Home Office

Leads on policing powers and the strategic policing requirement (SPR).

 

Mutual aid and escalation

Tier 1

Local

Forces mobilise and utilise their own resources.

Tier 2

Regional

Forces request assistant from the Regional Information and Coordination Centre (RICC) for support from neighbouring forces within their region.

Tier 3

National

Where the capacity or capability of a region cannot meet the request, this is escalated to NPoCC who secure resources from forces elsewhere in the UK.
