Dear Dame Caroline

Thank you for inviting me to give evidence on behalf of ITV to the CMS Committee Inquiry into Women in Sport. I hope you found the evidence I provided helpful for your inquiry.

I'm writing in response to the question by Kevin Brennan MP regarding the England versus Canada women's rugby international and the suggestion that it was offered to ITV, alongside the BBC, at no cost but was not shown on either of our channels.

As far as I am aware and having checked within our sports and rights department, we can find no record of being offered those games or indeed followed up if a response had not been received by ITV. If you have more detail of an approach I would be very happy to inquire again internally to find out what happened to the proposal.

As I said in the session ITV is very proud of our coverage and commitment to women's rugby and the World Cup and indeed with WXV which we've shown recently on ITVX.
