Teaching in the classroom, with pupils is an amazing job.

Doing constant hours of admin, 40+ hours a week is not. It takes all the energy away from what the job should be.

Bursary schemes are embarrassing as you get teachers in for 1-2 years, then they leave. There is NO incentive for experienced teachers to stay in teaching, and if you look at any successful education system, eg, Scandinavia, experienced teachers are rewarded.

Stop with the admin. Stop with the jumping through hoops. Let teachers teach. Reward experienced teachers fairly.

The evidence is on the amount of experienced teachers leaving, nothing to do with how many are taking on the bursary for training.
