Recruitment
Lack of progression within the profession.
Work load is a pressure. 70hr weeks are not sustainable.
OFSTED have a detrimental effect on establishments. Not supportive but punitive.
Retention
Experienced teachers are not valued, pay does not increase and the difference between starting and being experienced is narrowing meaning teachers can get better paid jobs elsewhere.
Headteachers are not allowed to be trusted by their governing body to do the corrrect thing by excluding pupils which disrupt the learning of others. There is far too much paper work and hoops to jump through for a headteacher to try and permanently exclude a pupils who will not behave in class thus affecting the other 29 pupils in the class. The bureacuracy needs to stop and the endless appeals. When will parents take responsibility for their child. We are teachers not the parents.
Training
From my opinion is fine.
