Written evidence submitted by Association of Dental Hospitals (DHS0003)

The Association of Dental Hospitals (ADH) is a membership organisation which represents the voices of dental hospitals across the UK and Ireland. Our membership consists of dental hospitals/academic clinical facilities which provide dental services, and have a significant commitment to NHS funded undergraduate and/or postgraduate dental students.

ADH would like to emphasise to the panel that dental records from both primary and secondary care should be included in any electronic healthcare records. Interactions with healthcare professionals including members of the dental team should be fully recorded in patients’ single health and care record. Only then, can patients and healthcare teams and providers have access to accurate, thorough, and current information.
