Fare play? Government's role in ticketing and pricing

Inquiry

The Transport Committee is exploring Government interventions in public transport fares, pricing and ticketing.

The inquiry will explore:

  • how the Government intervenes in public transport fares;
  • what outcomes the Government is seeking to achieve when developing fares strategies and whether outcomes are clearly articulated and effectively delivered;
  • what further outcomes the Government could seek to achieve in terms of wider benefits, and how it could intervene to achieve these.
