The Humanitarian Situation in Yemen

Non-inquiry session

This session examined humanitarian needs in Yemen resulting from ongoing conflict and instability across the country, as well as possible ways out of the conflict and options for post-conflict development programming. The first panel featured witnesses engaged in delivering humanitarian aid across the country, who will share their experience and first-hand insight into the scale of humanitarian need, the increased difficulties faced by women and girls, and the situation of Yemen’s many displaced citizens.

The second panel featured peacebuilding and stabilisation experts, who discussed where solutions to the conflict might be found, as well as work that can be development work that can be undertaken to benefit Yemeni citizens once a sustainable peace has been secured.
