Expert Panel: Evaluation of Government’s progress on meeting patient safety recommendations

Non-inquiry session

The Health and Social Care Committee established its Expert Panel in 2021. The Expert Panel is made up by politically impartial panel of experts,  and it conducts evaluations independently of the Committee of the Government’s work in different areas of health and social care policy. The Expert Panel produces a report after each evaluation which is sent to the Committee to review, which includes a CQC-style rating of the Government’s progress. The Expert Panel’s seventh evaluation will be on Government progress on meeting patient safety recommendations made by public inquiries and reviews, which the Government had accepted.

Core members of the Expert Panel are:

Professor Emma Cave

Anita Charlesworth;

Sir David Pearson; and

Professor Stephen Peckham.
