Securing the domestic supply chain

Inquiry

** Following the announcement that a General Election will be held on 4 July, Select Committees will be unable to meet from 24 May and will cease to exist from 30 May until after the General Election. This work has therefore closed.**

The Committee has launched an inquiry examining the potential for UK manufacturing to play a greater role in the supply chain for low-carbon energy projects and the Government support available.

The inquiry’s proposed aims are:

  • To determine how well we understand where, in the low-carbon energy sector, the greatest potential for a UK supply chain lies;
  • To explore how effectively the Government is supporting industry to reach this potential;
  • To understand how growing a more local supply chain could affect progress towards the goal of a secure, decarbonised electricity sector by 2035.

This inquiry is no longer accepting evidence

The deadline for submissions was Friday 5 January 2024.
