The Whole of Government Accounts (WGA) consolidates the accounts of over 10,000 public organisations, including central government departments, local authorities, devolved administrations, the NHS, academy schools and public corporations, to provide the most complete and accurate picture of the UK’s public finances.
The 2020-21 WGA provides the most comprehensive view of the public finances after the first year of the pandemic response.
The WGA is independently audited by the National Audit Office and scrutinised by the Public Accounts Committee. Based on the NAO’s findings, the Committee will question senior Treasury officials on subjects relating to the 2020-21 WGA including:
- the impact to the public finances from the COVID-19 pandemic
- the impact of any delays to and missing data from the WGA
- progress on implementing recommendations from the Committee’s 2019-20 WGA report
If you have evidence on these issues please submit it here by 23:59 on Friday 27 October 2023.
Please look at the requirements for written evidence submissions and note that the Committee cannot accept material as evidence that is published elsewhere.
