Science and Scotland

Inquiry

The Committee will be inquiring into Scotland’s impact on scientific research, and its global reputation in the scientific community. We want to hear about the opportunities and challenges faced by Scotland’s scientific community, as well as research funding opportunities for universities and businesses in Scotland. The focus will be:

  • the international influence Scottish scientific research and development has had in the last 10 years;
  • the steps which the UK Government and private sector should take to support research and development in Scotland.

Read the call for evidence for more detail about the inquiry.

Following the announcement that a General Election will be held on 4 July, Select Committees will be unable to meet from 24 May and will cease to exist from 30 May until after the General Election. This work has therefore closed.

This inquiry is no longer accepting evidence

The deadline for submissions was 11:55pm on 13 September 2023.
