Financial services after Brexit

This short inquiry explores priorities for the future UK-EU relationship in the financial services sector, including banking, insurance, pensions and investment, among other areas, and the potential consequences if no free trade agreement is reached. It examines key issues such as EU equivalence determinations, future regulatory dialogue, potential divergence and the UK’s new regulatory framework. It builds on continued correspondence between the Committee and Government following the EU Financial Affairs Sub-Committee’s long letter to the Chancellor in March 2020.
