Commercialising quantum technologies

Inquiry

Quantum technologies have been identified by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology as one of five critical technologies that it will focus on under its new Science and Technology Framework. The Government has also just published a new national quantum strategy that sets out its 10-year vision and actions required from the UK to be a “leading quantum-enabled economy”. During its lifetime, UK National Quantum Technologies Programme (NQTP) has driven the success of the UK’s quantum technologies sector but more needs to be done to ensure that these technological advances can be turned into commercial products that can benefit the UK’s society and economy.

The Committee will examine what support the sector needs to achieve commercialisation of quantum technologies and what interventions are required from the Government to drive the success of the UK’s quantum technologies sector.
