DCMS: Broadband, Gambling and Unboxed

Inquiry

The Committee will question senior officials at the DCMS Department

to follow up on the Committee’s previous inquiries into gambling regulation and the stalled rollout of gigabit broadband across the UK.

There will also be questions on the Government’s UNBOXED festival following an investigation by the National Audit Office. The festival took place at locations throughout the United Kingdom, and digitally, between March and November 2022. Forecast to cost just under its full budget of £120 million, engagement with the project appears to have fallen significantly short of the organisers’ “stretch target” of reaching 66 million people.
