The conflict in Ukraine has created the fastest and largest movement of refugees in Europe since the second world war. UK aid has sought to provide emergency assistance to those in need, both in Ukraine and in surrounding countries. But is it reaching the people that need it most? Is aid reaching local organisations within Ukraine, and how are the challenges in delivering ‘the last mile’ of aid being overcome?
This standalone session considered the effectiveness of the UK’s humanitarian response to the crisis, with no obvious end to the conflict in sight.
