The Committee will hear from Dr Henrietta Hughes OBE, the Government’s preferred candidate for the newly created role of Patient Safety Commissioner, to assess her suitability for the role in accordance with the Liaison Committee’s guidance. Creation of the role was a recommendation of the Independent Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Review into how the health system responds to reports from patients about harmful side effects from medicines and medical devices
