Universal Credit and Managed Migration

Non-inquiry session

This oral evidence session is looking at the implications of the Government’s resumption on 9 May 2022 of the managed migration to Universal Credit (UC) from legacy benefits (with a focus on taking account of complex needs). The session will consider:

  • lessons from the roll out of UC in general,
  • lessons from the first wave of managed migration (the Harrogate pilot),
  • implications of current and forecast cost of living challenges for UC recipients, and
  • advice to the Government on recommended amendments to the regulations governing the further mandatory migration.
