High Speed 2: 2022 Spring Update

Inquiry

The Committee has previously reported, following its HS2 inquiry updates in 2020 and 2021, that the High-Speed 2 rail project was “badly off course” with project managers “blindsided by contact with reality” and raised serious concerns about the official account that had been provided to the Committee, over time, of the project’s health.

The Committee will question Bernadette Kelly, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Transport and Mark Thurston, Chief Executive of HS2 Ltd, on latest progress, costs and timing estimates for the whole remaining programme.

If you have evidence on the current state of the HS2 programme please submit it here by 6pm on Monday 9 May 2022.

This inquiry is no longer accepting evidence

The deadline for submissions was 6:00pm on 9 May 2022.
