Minister questioned on future of local journalism

14 October 2022

The Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee is expected to ask about government support for local journalism, amidst reports that existing public and industry support disproportionately benefits larger publishers. Possible funding methods, such as tax breaks, innovation funds, or making it easier for newspapers to gain charitable status may be discussed.
