UK aid spending alignment with Paris Agreement

Non-inquiry session

The Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) has published a review into UK aid’s alignment with the Paris agreement on climate change. The review looks at how the Government will ensure that UK aid spending complies with the Paris agreement, which seeks to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

The International Development Committee held a one-off oral evidence session on this review with witnesses from ICAI and the FCDO. It will scrutinise the contents of ICAI’s review and the Government’s response and explore what more can be done to ensure that aid spending is aligned with the Paris agreement.
