Parliamentary Boundary Reviews after 2018 inquiry

Inquiry

Government Response

There has been speculation as to whether the Parliamentary Boundary Review due to be completed in October 2018, which will reduce the number of MPs in the House of Commons, will be implemented. There are also calls to amend the rules set out in legislation for how boundary reviews are conducted.

To help inform this ongoing debate the Committee will hold a one-off evidence session with representatives of the Boundary Commissions and leading academics on the implications of cancelling or not implementing the current boundary review; or of amending the rules and beginning a new review.
