ICO, Match and Twitter discuss internet regulation

The Communications Committee takes evidence from Elizabeth Denham, Information Commissioner, and representatives of Match Group (via videolink) and Twitter and as part of its inquiry into internet regulation.

The Committee asks the Information Commissioner about her role in the regulatory framework, how she deals with areas of overlap with other regulators and about taking a principles-based approach to regulation.

In the second evidence session, the Committee explores how policy makers can ensure that regulation is proportionate and effective across international jurisdictions and how regulation can be developed so that it does not impose excessive burdens for business.
