Paul Silk, Chair of the Commission on Devolution in Wales, and other Commission members, will be giving oral evidence to the Welsh Affairs Committee on 29 April 2014 at 9.30 am in the House of Commons (room tbc) on the Commission’s Part II Report.
The Commission on Devolution in Wales (the Silk Commission) published its Part II report on the legislative powers of the National Assembly for Wales on 3 March 2014. The report makes 61 recommendations on the devolution of further powers to Wales and changes to the devolution settlement which could be phased in over a ten-year period. The recommendations include changing the model of devolution to the “reserved powers” model in line with that in Scotland and Northern Ireland, the full devolution of youth justice and partial devolution of police, transport and energy.
To inform the evidence session, the Committee invites interested parties to submit their views in writing addressing any aspect of the Commission’s Part II recommendations. The deadline for written submissions is midday on Wednesday 16 April.
