Trade with the EU and the rest of the world is an important contributor to the Welsh economy, and Brexit raises major questions about what impact future trade and customs arrangements will have on trade between Wales and other countries.
Following the publication of a UK Government white paper setting out its vision for the future UK-EU trading relationship, the Committee will investigate what the proposed trading and customs arrangements would mean for Wales—particularly given the extensive trade movement of goods through ports connecting Wales and Ireland.
The inquiry focuses on what different options for future UK-EU trade and customs arrangements would mean for Wales, and what opportunities there are for Wales in securing new trade agreements with non-EU nations.
