Appointment of Dr Mark Carney as Governor of the Bank of England

On 26 November 2012, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon George Osborne MP, announced that Dr Mark Carney would be the next Governor of the Bank of England. He is expected to take up the post on 1 July 2013.

The Treasury Committee questioned Dr Carney in a one-off session on Thursday 7 February.
