Pre-appointment hearing on ORR inquiry

Inquiry

As part of its scrutiny of the Department of Transport, the Transport Committee is invited to hold a pre-appointment hearing for the new Chair of the Office of Rail and Road (ORR). These hearings are intended to increase scrutiny of important public appointments, and add legitimacy to appointments which are approved by the Committee.

On 21 August 2018 the Government announced that its preferred candidate to replace Stephen Glaister as Chair of the ORR was Declan Collier, who most recently served as Chief Executive of London City Airport.

The Committee will be meeting with Mr Collier on Monday 5 November, and reporting its verdict on his appointment shortly thereafter.
