Forensic Science Strategy inquiry launched

The Science and Technology Committee launches its inquiry on the Forensic Science Strategy. The committee scrutinises the Government's strategy and the extent to which it addresses the concerns of the previous Science and Technology Committee.

The Committee seeks views on the links between the Forensic Strategy and developments in biometric sciences and regulation, ahead of the still awaited publication of a separate government biometric strategy.
Written evidence submissions should be made by Monday 4 April 2016.
Background
The Government published its vision for forensic science in the criminal justice system as a Command Paper on Forensic Science Strategy (Cm 9217) (PDF 2.04 MB) on 11 March 2016.
The previous Science and Technology Committee reported on this area in July 2011 and July 2013.
