The Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) is conducting an inquiry into public procurement, with a particular emphasis on the Government’s capability to procure goods and services effectively.
Public procurement is the process whereby public bodies acquire goods, services and works from third parties. It ranges from the procurement of routine items (e.g. stationery, furniture or temporary office staff), to complex areas of spending (e.g. major construction and infrastructure projects or procurement of IT systems or large-scale military equipment).
