Safeguarding vulnerable people: how DWP learns lessons from serious cases

Non-inquiry session

The Work and Pensions Committee held an evidence session with the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to ask her about how DWP learns lessons from cases involving the deaths of people who claim benefits. This session followed a report by the National Audit Office, published in February 2020, on Information held by the Department for Work & Pensions on deaths by suicide of benefit claimants.
